Growth Manager

We're looking for a Growth Manager who believes the best marketing is a product people can't stop talking about, and knows how to build the systems that turn that into scale.

Full-time · Oslo/London

About Take Take Take

Co-founded by 5x World Chess Champion Magnus Carlsen, Take Take Take is building a new home for modern chess. An AI-powered platform for casual players to get personalized coaching, play chess, and share their learning journey with friends.

We've already built a significant presence in the chess world, reaching 5 million people every month with our content. We just launched our new product, and are incredibly excited about the future. Take Take Take is backed by SNÖ, Coatue, Lovable, Patrick Collison and others. We’re a small team in Oslo and London, and on a journey to give 600 million Chess players a new home. We would love for you to join us!

The Role

You'll be Take Take Take's first dedicated growth hire — the person who turns our product momentum into a repeatable, scalable growth engine. You believe in product-led growth: that the best acquisition, activation, and retention loops are baked into the product itself, not bolted on through ad spend.

This is not a traditional marketing role. Reporting to the CFO/CCO, you'll work across product, data, and distribution, running experiments, finding leverage points, and working closely with the product team to build growth directly into the experience. You're the future of what marketing looks like at a company like ours.

What You'll Do

  • Own the growth funnel from acquisition through activation, retention, and referral, with a clear view of what drives each stage

  • Identify and build growth loops that generate organic acquisition and virality

  • Design, launch, and analyse growth experiments with rigour and speed

  • Dig into user behaviour, conversion funnels, and cohort data to identify and prioritize opportunities

  • Develop and scale the channels that bring the right users to Take Take Take, from SEO and content, to partnerships and community

  • Work closely with the product team to ensure growth thinking is embedded in every feature

  • Own key growth metrics (MAU, activation rate, free-to-paid conversion, D7/D30 retention, CAC, LTV, viral coefficient) and keep leadership informed

Who We're Looking For

Must-Haves

  • At least 3 years (ideally more!) of experience in growth, marketing, and/or product at a consumer technology startup

  • Deep understanding of product-led growth. You've built or worked within PLG motions before

  • Strong analytical skills. Comfortable with data tools and able to turn numbers into decisions

  • Experiment-driven. You test before you scale, and know how to read results honestly

  • Thorough understanding of key consumer SaaS and app metrics

  • Self-starter who thrives in ambiguous, fast-moving environments

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience growing a mobile app or subscription consumer product

  • Familiarity with chess or gaming communities

  • Experience with content-led or community-led growth strategies

  • Experience with tools like Mixpanel, Amplitude, Braze, or similar

Why Join Take Take Take

  • Be the first dedicated growth hire at a company co-founded by Magnus Carlsen, and define what growth looks like here

  • Work on a product with genuine organic pull: our SoMe has 5 million monthly reach, targeting a global chess audience hungry for something new

  • Work across product and distribution in a company that takes both seriously

  • Join ahead of Series A, with the chance to build something that lasts

  • Work alongside great engineers, designers, and product minds across Oslo and London
