Co-founded by 5x World Chess Champion Magnus Carlsen, Take Take Take is building a new home for modern chess. An AI-powered platform for casual players to get personalized coaching, play chess, and share their learning journey with friends.

We've already built a significant presence in the chess world, reaching 5 million people every month with our content. We just launched our new product, and are incredibly excited about the future. Take Take Take is backed by SNÖ, Coatue, Lovable, Patrick Collison and others. We’re a small team in Oslo and London, and on a journey to give 600 million Chess players a new home. The Role

You'll own the day-to-day financial operations and the commercial insights that inform our growth strategy. Reporting to our CFO/CCO, your role is to deliver the financial infrastructure and analysis that allows leadership to make fast, well-informed decisions as we scale.

A key to success here is leveraging AI: using AI-powered tools to run operations more efficiently, and orchestrating AI agents to automate and scale the finance function.

What You'll Do

Commercial Strategy

• Financial modelling and scenario analysis to inform commercial strategy, including pricing and packaging, investments, market expansion, and partnership deal structures

• Build and maintain frameworks to evaluate growth channel ROI and subscription tier economics, and own the ongoing performance analysis against them

• Partner with growth and product teams to track and report on key metrics (MRR, LTV, CAC, retention, conversion) and support investor reporting

Budgeting, Forecasting & Cash Management

• Own the financial model; build and maintain rolling budgets and forecasts, and run monthly variance analysis against actuals

• Monitor cash flow and runway, flagging risks and opportunities to leadership

Financial Operations & Reporting

• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial dashboards for the board and leadership

• Coordinate with external accountants and auditors (Norwegian GAAP / IFRS as applicable)

Compliance & Controls

• Ensure compliance with Norwegian tax and corporate regulations (VAT, payroll tax, etc.)

• Maintain internal financial controls and manage payroll and expense processes

AI & Automation

• Deploy and orchestrate AI agents to automate finance workflows

• Proactively bring new AI tools and approaches to the team

Who We're Looking For

Must-Haves

• Solid experience in finance, accounting, or FP&A

• Strong command of financial reporting and month-end close

• Comfortable with ambiguity and building in a high-growth startup

• Strong financial modelling skills and proficiency with core finance tools

• Genuine enthusiasm for using AI to automate and scale finance operations

• Solid understanding of B2C / SaaS business metrics

• Strong English communication skills

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience building and scaling finance infrastructure post Series A

• Familiarity with Norwegian accounting standards and tax regulations

• Background in consumer tech, gaming, or subscription businesses

• ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent qualification

• A chess obsession, or at least the openness to develop one 😊
